Dancer Spotlight: Heather Nielsen-Norton

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a Beautician or a Message Therapist.

What was your favorite place you have ever traveled?

The U.K. and Spain. Scotland was amazing and beautiful! I love learning about different cultures and history.

What super hero power would you choose to have?

I wish I could clone myself when I want so that I could get more done during the day.

When you’re not dancing, what are you doing?

Realistically? Working and cleaning, haha. However, I do take time to do some yoga, hiking, running, shopping, or cooking when I can. Also I now have a new interest in crocheting.

What was your favorite food when you were little, and what is it now?

When I was young, I loved tortellini. Now I love curry and pizza (not together).

What’s the most played song on your iPod?

It always changes. Right now: “Express Yourself” by Labyrinth or anything by Imagine Dragons.

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?

When I was in 3rd grade, I pushed a kids face down into the drinking fountain while he was getting a drink to try to be funny. Turns out he started crying and it actually hurt him. I felt really dumb after that.

What was the best gift you’ve ever received?

The best gift I received was my engagement ring from my husband because that meant we were getting married.
