Receive professional feedback from multiple adjudicators, as well as studio time/space to work on notes given, at WCDC’s new feedback event for youth dance numbers!
Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company members and directors have a bounty of studio dance, competitive dance, and composition experience, having taught in studio, high school, and professional dance settings for their entire professional careers. In addition, they have the artistic eye to give your competition pieces and other youth dance numbers the edge they need to succeed. Come receive feedback from WCDC adjudicators to help hone the technical skills, transitions, formations, and artistic expression of your competition pieces.
Duets and trios: $35
Small group numbers (4-6 dancers): $50
Large group numbers (7+ dancers): $70
Rules and Requirements
-All dances must be under 4 minutes long.
-Dancers must be 18 years or younger.
-Please bring music on a device such as a phone, tablet or laptop. The studio will be equipped with aux cords and Iphone adapters for you to use.
-Costumes are not necessary but wearing something uniform does help the adjudicators focus on choreography, technique and performance. If you do not have costumes yet, consider wearing all black.
-Due to the tight schedule, we will not be allowing additional observers to enter the studios with the performing groups. Two adults max per performing group will be allowed into the studio while dancers perform.
-A waiver must be signed (online) by each youth’s guardian. The registration form will request the email address of each dancer’s parent for this purpose.
-All dance genres welcome, but this facility is not equipped for tap or clogging shoes.
You will be assigned an approximately 70-minute window between 12 and 4 PM on Saturday, Feb 19.
During this time frame, dance numbers will perform 2 different times in front of different adjudicators. Following each performance, each dance number will receive verbal feedback from an adjudicator. Dancers can then rehearse in a separate studio to work on the notes given to them before performing for the next adjudicator.

-This event will take place at SMASH Dance Academy located at 188 W 5200 N Provo UT.
