Jaclyn Brown

Jaclyn Brown resides in Orem, Utah where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance Performance from Utah Valley University (2014). Upon graduating, Jaclyn performed and toured professionally as a Dance Artist with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) for seven consecutive seasons (2014-2021). During her time with RDT, Jaclyn worked under the direction of renowned artists such as Nina Watt, Zvi Gotheiner, Danielle Agami, and Bebe Miller. Afterwards, Jaclyn attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, receiving her Master of Fine Arts degree in Contemporary Performance and Choreography (2023). While in grad school, her choreographic work “Resonate” was nominated to perform in the North-Central Region closing gala at the American College Dance Association Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska. Simultaneously, Jaclyn also began working with Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company as a Company Teacher,
choreographer, and performer. Jaclyn’s interests lie in striking a balance between the life of a dance artist and the life of a mother with a family. Her most recent evening-length work MATRIARCH (2023) explored embodied research on the topic of maternity in dance, probing how the experiences of motherhood challenge expectations of how a dancer should look or behave, while celebrating the art form through which she finds solace. Jaclyn currently teaches all levels of Contemporary and Modern Dance Technique Forms as Adjunct Faculty at Brigham Young University.

Darcie Day

Darcie Day is a contemporary dancer and artist with a deep love for all things movement expression and kinesthetics. She recently received her BFA in modern dance from Utah Valley University where she engaged as a member of UVU’s pre-professional company Contemporary Dance Ensemble. Darcie has worked with award winning choreographers including Yoshito Sakuraba, Joanie Smith, Molly Heller, WHYTEBERG, and Courtney Mazeika. She has also had the opportunity to perform as a guest artist with SALT Contemporary Dance, Heartland Dance Collective, and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company.

Lily Farrar

Lily Farrar, a Tennessee native, graduated with her BFA dance degree from Shenandoah University in 2021. Lily received her Master’s in Performing Arts Leadership and Management in May 2023. While at school, she performed pieces by Lucina Child, Sidra Bell, Matt Pardo, Daniel Padierna, and Tiffanie Carson. Farrar has performed with DanceWorks Chicago and Contra Tiempo. She has trained with The Nashville Ballet Company, commercial Dance Intensive, LACDC, The Arch Ballet, Ekilibre Dance Contact Improv Workshop, New York Dance Project, Koresh, and Motion X in DC. Lily is a freelance dance teacher, choreographer, model, and social media manager. She is currently a teacher and office manager for Central Utah Ballet under Jennie Creer-King. While living in Utah, she danced with Fem Dance Co, Wasatch Contemporary, and Odyssey Dance Theatre. With Odyssey, Lily got to tour Germany and perform as a company member for two seasons in shows like Thriller, Chicago, and Romeo & Juliet.

Kenzie Gannaway

Kenzie graduated from Wichita State University with a BFA in Dance. During her time there she attended American Dance Festival, Salt Dance Festival and toured to Mexico with Wichita Contemporary Dance Company. This allowed her to work with choreographers such as Darrell Grand Moultrie, Charles Anderson, and Jamie Walker. She also performed with Chandler Dances on stage and in community spaces as well as with Alithea Mime Theater both on stage and as an entertainer for parties. Kenzie continues to perform with Automic Lotus Industries at live events and on film. Since graduation she has guest performed for Raw Focus, JK Studios and Newbrese Dance Project. She continues to freelance as a sword balancer and living statue.

Brittany Henderson

Brittany Henderson started dancing in fourth grade and carried her love of dance to BYU where she was able to perform on two different performing companies. She graduated with a major in dance performance and then danced for Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company’s secondary company for a couple of seasons before teaching at Dansation and BYU for a few years. She returned to WCDC in 2022 and is very happy to be moving on to the main company this season.

Lyndsi Henretty

Lyndsi grew up in Eagle, Idaho where she has been dancing and performing since she was 10 years old. She has lived all around Utah for the past 8 years since she received her BFA in Dance Performance from Brigham Young University, where she performed with DancEnsemble and Contemporary Dance Theatre. While attending BYU she traveled to China for a dance study abroad where she had the opportunity to perform and collaborate with dance students at Wuxi Culture and Art School and Beijing Minzu University. Lyndsi has also had the privilege to learn from and collaborate with professionals such as Natalie Desch, Daniel Charon, Ihsan Rustem, Sarah Pearson and Patrik Widrig. Since graduating, Lyndsi has been a part of multiple companies and projects around Utah, including Body Logic Dance, Onsite Mobile Dance Series and most recently Salt Pro where she was under the direction of Courtney Mazeika. Lyndsi has a strong belief in movement being a healing for the soul as well as its power to communicate stories, thoughts and ideas that words cannot express. Lyndsi is beyond excited and overjoyed to continue her story through movement with Wasatch Contemporary Dance this season.

Jess MacDonald

Jess MacDonald grew up dancing in Heber City, Utah, where she trained and had the opportunity to perform with Ballet West, the Radio City Rockettes, TedEx, as well as compete nationally. Jess then attended Utah Valley University to pursue an Honors BFA in Modern Dance. During her time at UVU, Jess danced for UVU’s Contemporary Dance Ensemble and hip-hop company Mosaic. She also held the positions of Rehearsal Director for CDE and Student Representative for the Department of Dance. In 2017, Jess had the opportunity to work with Repertory Dance Theater and perform Andy Noble’s Tower. Jess also enjoys dance research and presented at The National Conference for Undergraduate Research in 2017 and 2018. Jess now teaches and performs in Utah/Salt Lake counties and is excited to join WCDC’s main company.

Natalie Tolman

Natalie Tolman is a professional dancer and choreographer who has trained in dance for over fifteen years. She recently received her Bachelor of Arts in dance from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She was very involved in choreographing and directing for the schools’ collegiate dance company, teaching modern dance classes on campus, and dancing in shows every semester during her time at BYU-Idaho.  Since then, she has been dancing professionally and creating her own work. She is so excited to be joining Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company where she can continue to share her love of dance.

Alexis Valbuena

Alexis Valbuena is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer originally from Orange County, California. During her adolescent years, Alexis trained extensively in both classical ballet and contemporary techniques. She competed in the Youth America Grand Prix numerous times and trained with companies such as Bodytraffic and Backhausdance. To give back to the dance community, Alexis has volunteered with non-profit organizations Dancer for Dancer and Stairway for Ballet in her free time. She currently attends the University of Utah, where she is a rising junior studying Dance and Environmental Studies. She is excited to be joining WCDC for their fourteenth season!
