jaclyn brown

Jaclyn resides in Orem, Utah where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance Performance from Utah Valley University (2014). Upon graduating, Jaclyn performed and toured professionally as a Dance Artist with Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) for seven consecutive seasons (2014-2021). During her time with RDT, Jaclyn worked under the direction of renowned artists such as Nina Watt, Zvi Gotheiner, Danielle Agami, and Bebe Miller. Afterwards, Jaclyn attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, receiving her Master of Fine Arts degree in Contemporary Performance and Choreography (2023). While in grad school, her choreographic work “Resonate” was nominated to perform in the North-Central Region closing gala at the American College Dance Association Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska. Simultaneously, Jaclyn also began working with Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company as a Company Teacher, choreographer, and performer. Jaclyn’s interests lie in striking a balance between the life of a dance artist and the life of a mother. Her most recent evening-length work MATRIARCH (2023) explored embodied research on the topic of maternity in dance, probing how the experiences of motherhood challenge expectations of how a dancer should look or behave, while celebrating the art form through which she finds solace. Jaclyn currently teaches all levels of Contemporary and Modern Dance Technique Forms as Adjunct Faculty at Brigham Young University.
